People Leadership The Universal Church Marriage and Family Politics, Government, and Prosperity 1.We value an environment characterized by love, acceptance and forgiveness. 2.We value creativity in our environment, characterized by the willingness to create and express our God given talents and skills. 3.We value risk-taking, the adventurous expression of faith. For example, a pat on the back for a good try is more valuable than safe, non-effective methodical steps. 4.We value the serious approach to leadership in the management of our resources to the highest good of God's Kingdom. 5.We value a strong home life. We contend that local congregational life should be enhancing rather than destructive to the strength of the home. 6.We value accountability. The systems of accountability within and without the Church are valued highly and considered essential to the maintenance of all for which we stand as the Church. 7.We value Holiness. We value our right standing before God. We are in Christ; therefore totally righteous and without sin. We also contend for a life free of willful sin and disobedience to Christ. 8.We value each individual's personal relationship with Christ. 9.We value flexibility. 10.We value a non-controlling approach to personal ministry. 11.We value leadership that is strong, visionary and exemplary. 12.We value the liberty to express our unique God-given call to our community as a congregation. We value the right to be who we are as a congregation, without regard to what has been or what is presently being done in other congregations or groups with reference to their approach to Christianity. We contend that every congregation has a unique expression of Christ in a community. We do not like the tendency toward redundancy and value our unique approach to reaching our community. 13.We value the historical roots of Christianity that shaped the theology and orthodoxy of the Faith. 14.We value a musical environment that is part of our worship and contributes to our communion and worship with Christ. 15.We value spiritual authority so that confusion does not rule the church. 16.We value organization and planning for a clear and successful vision. 17.We value relationships and our organization's approach to unity is summed up in the following 3 statements: |
