What We Value

What We Value

The Bible
We value the Bible as God's infallible and inspired Word and authority. We allow His Word to interpret us rather than us interpreting His Word.

People
We value every human being as a creation of God, unique and loved by Him, therefore valued and loved by us.

Leadership
We value authentic leadership that is grounded in integrity, honesty, discipline, and biblical morality.

The Universal Church
We value the "Body of Christ" worldwide known as the "Church." For it is through the Church that Christ operates in the earth.

Marriage and Family
We value marriage between a man and a woman and the family that results from that union. The health of the family is the foundation, moral fiber, strength and protector of civilization, and serves God's plan for the human race.

Politics, Government, and Prosperity
We value the Scriptures, the Constitution of the United States and the Free Enterprise System. It is through these three "agencies" that all the necessary elements and principals of morality, finance, individual growth, and civilization development exist. These three "agencies" make it possible by which mankind can aspire to lofty and worthy goals by creating the necessary environment for the achievement of the highest ideals of morality and the directing of mankind upward. Together they reveal the "Hand of God" in the affairs of men by causing the individual to develop faith and personal responsibility which are the two forces that keep the individual and society upwardly mobile. The Scriptures, Constitution and the Free Enterprise System propel mankind to achieve his ultimate fulfillment on the earth. These three agencies create a muscular society in which the individual is compelled to compete and develop in Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

The Local Church

1.We value an environment characterized by love, acceptance and forgiveness.

2.We value creativity in our environment, characterized by the willingness to create and express our God given talents and skills.

3.We value risk-taking, the adventurous expression of faith. For example, a pat on the back for a good try is more valuable than safe, non-effective methodical steps.

4.We value the serious approach to leadership in the management of our resources to the highest good of God's Kingdom.

5.We value a strong home life. We contend that local congregational life should be enhancing rather than destructive to the strength of the home.

6.We value accountability. The systems of accountability within and without the Church are valued highly and considered essential to the maintenance of all for which we stand as the Church.

7.We value Holiness. We value our right standing before God. We are in Christ; therefore totally righteous and without sin. We also contend for a life free of willful sin and disobedience to Christ.

8.We value each individual's personal relationship with Christ.

9.We value flexibility.

10.We value a non-controlling approach to personal ministry.

11.We value leadership that is strong, visionary and exemplary.

12.We value the liberty to express our unique God-given call to our community as a congregation. We value the right to be who we are as a congregation, without regard to what has been or what is presently being done in other congregations or groups with reference to their approach to Christianity. We contend that every congregation has a unique expression of Christ in a community. We do not like the tendency toward redundancy and value our unique approach to reaching our community.

13.We value the historical roots of Christianity that shaped the theology and orthodoxy of the Faith.

14.We value a musical environment that is part of our worship and contributes to our communion and worship with Christ.

15.We value spiritual authority so that confusion does not rule the church.

16.We value organization and planning for a clear and successful vision.

17.We value relationships and our organization's approach to unity is summed up in the following 3 statements:

I. In Essentials unity
II.In Non-Essentials liberty
III. In All Things - love
